This refined sugar free chocolate pecan banana ice cream is a luteal phase treat. With just 4 simple ingredients, this satisfies those intense cravings while supporting your hormones and cycle.
Bananas are rich in Vitamin B6 which your body needs to make progesterone. Progesterone helps balance estrogen if it is too high (hello estrogen dominance) which is usually a root cause of PMS.
Pecans add healthy fats which help support stable blood sugar levels and prevent mood swings and energy crashes.
Cacao is loaded with magnesium which is antispasmodic that helps reduce cramps, iron to replenish stores that are lost during your period and antioxidants which promote that healthy glow.
INGREDIENTS
2 bananas, sliced and frozen
2 tablespoons cacao powder
1/4 cup non dairy milk (more to blend if needed)
2 tablespoons pecans, roughly chopped
INSTRUCTIONS
Blend all ingredients, except pecans, in a high speed blender.
Add more milk if needed, stopping to mix a few times until creamy.
Top with pecans for the most delicious crunch.
BONUS: Totally optional but I love to add a sprinkle of cinnamon which further helps with blood sugar balance in the luteal phase and is just freaking delicious in my opinion.
ENJOY! 🍌
